Brazil, the favorite for the World Cup, is geared up with all kinds of merchandise for sale!
Nate is one of the guys staying at our home for the month. We are having a great time and, yes, the hole is finished.
Another baby Ana, although she was born a year after our own Anna. This is the grand daughter of one of our key workers and she is just a doll.
Typical photo of a canoe in the morning light. These images are common along the water front.
I love these flowers... they are aways blooming in our yard. And the brilliant pink color makes them just stand out so well from their surroundings.
A view looking south along the Altamira waterfront... the city just built the new pier a couple years ago.
Fellow missionary in a canoe with some Brazilians out on a recent river trip... just pack them in there.
A photo of the moon... the clear nights and lack of ambient light here make this an ideal place to view the stars & moon.
Denise is a friend of our familys and the daughter of Pastor Clenildo with whom I work. She went on a recent trip with us up river.
Pictures like this this have a real attraction because of the semmetry & colors... AND they are so typical of the day to day living here.
This is why I use polarized sunglasses on the river... cuts down on the glare a bit:) That is the island of Arraras (Macaws) in the lense.
This was a moment of doing worship during a recent trip out on the river... we were meeting in a home church.
The only thing holding this canoe up:) Amazing how the water level can appear to be higher than the canoe.
I loved the color of this flower... it was almost dark when I took this picture.
Two cousins standing in the doorway of their home... extended families living together is very common in this part of Brazil.
Some children at the community of Caria... they were up at about 6:30 when the sun was rising. Notice the chickens in the foreground and background.
Predawn light on the eastern horizon across the Xingu River from Caria, one of the communities where we have a church plant.
Sunset in Vitoria do Xingu... this is a river port where we have a growing church. I hope to keep my pjotos up to date now. I need to write in my blog... what a busy month!
An orange flower from Suzanne's garden. Her garden is an endless source of amazement!
Looks like she is in jail, but she isn't... just the bars onher home to protect against breakins.
Beto is one of our local church leaders and also a good friend. He is a great dad and husband, after spending a couple decades as an achoholic. What a transformation.
We had an unexpected visitor for Easter... a nine foot long anaconda crawled up out of the jungle. The dogs were barking up a storm. Fortunately, no warm blooded creatures were injured in this encounter:)
Maybe I should take a picture of a tax return, but this seems more pretty:)
Just one of the many flowers from my wife's wonderful garden.
