Training Leaders

Jan 19-20, our churches put on the FIRST event at our training center… an event for training small group leaders. What a response, what an answer to prayer, and what an awesome opportunity to see God’s hand move. 60+ small group leaders from our four churches here in Altamira were able to get together for about 10 hours of teaching and worship. It was a BIG event for some key reasons:

1)      Our churches were using our facilities for training leaders.

2) This was the first fruits of labor on our training center work that has been going on for almost 3 years.

3) The tip of the iceberg was seen… the vast potential of this facility was revealed in a 24 hour snap shot of worship, teaching, and fellowship.

4) More skilled leaders in our urban centers = more local church growth = more potential church planters = growing God’s Kingdom!

A couple of other fun things are to see how the church has taken ownership of the facility and responsibility for it. They want to see it succeed and they are committed in whatever way it takes to get the job done.   For me personally, it was an emotionally charged moment when I saw the Holy Spirit using the facility to fulfill the exact reason and vision for which it was built.

Reality is that the facility is about 35% done. We still need a roof on ½ the building and still need to finish the work (kitchen facilities, bathrooms, benches, tables, chairs, wall plaster, floors, etc) on the part of the facility we are using.
